Today I started papaya transplanting in to farm, mulching for watermelon is big task for me and my husband without any machine we do it manually so its difficult and time consuming.we maintaining papaya plant to plant distance 6 feet , transplanting at 6.00 am papaya variety is Taiwan-786 it’s approx.2to 2.5 kg papaya it’s also called red lady typically harvest on eight or nine months , watermelon harvest after 75 days afterthen papaya grows , we planned to sowing marigold around papaya plants it’s used as trap crop, tomato also good there is good market for marigold in our city , it’s too late for watermelon from the view of weather and market, there is ramjan eid in May month , and increase demand for watermelon in eid,our watermelo will come in June may be if we choose sugar queen variety of watermelon, it’s 75- 85 days variety , and in June if mansoon will come then pest became increase because of moisture , so we decide to choose melody variety it’s 60-65days variety suitable for late sowing 🍉🍉

Inorganic pesticides are harmful for human as well as plant and animals . Who wouldn’t like organic produce from their own farm or garden without having to worry about harmful pesticides and insecticides.

In your kitchen there are natural wonders from which you can produce organic pesticides it’s safe, inexpensive and effective.

1. Neem leaves:- medicinal herbs has bitter taste and strong odour ,it’s effective when spray on young plants, it’s non toxic for animals, birds,plants and humans.

• Onion and garlic spray-: one clove of garlic + one onion+ one teaspoon cayenne pepper+1 tbs.chilli powder+liquid soap+ water its excellent pesticide for aphids, jassids ,thrips all type of insects pest

• Eucalyptus oil-: repells bugs and insects due to strong odour spray some oil on plants regularly.
• Chrysanthemum flower tea-: contains pyrethrum it’s strong chemical for insects pests damage nervous system of pest, boil two cup of water with 2 cup flower for 30 min. And strain it ,pour it into spray bottle or add some neem oil .

• Castor oil + 2 tbs.vinegar+10 to 15 drops of lemongrass oil+ 10 drops of geranium oil this will repell insects and also discourage raccons and moles wondering about your farm

• Tomato leaves-: tomato contains tomatoin which controls aphids, thrips ,2 cup of fresh tomato juice add it into liquid soap spray it immediately.

If you use homemade and natural pesticides ,organic vegetables and fruits are good for health.

In Biospehere there is system in which one living being is depend on other for survival, this system helps in pest management , natural enemies available for pest all around world. Bio control is method of controlling weed,diseases, insects,fungi, mites useing other organism involves predation, parasitism, herbivore,other natural methods.

Biocontrol is part of integrated pest management, there are so many predators which is natural enemies for pest like ladybird beetle praying mantid , lacewings.

If you see praying mantid in your farm or garden say thanks to the little friend three type of mantids European mantis, Carolina mantis, Chinese mantis. Eat widely all small insects,eggs,nymps,fruit flies etc. So don’t kill or spray insecticides if see this little buddy . They have long neck which rotates 180 degree and preying all pest in your garden, if you have ecological balance of pest in your farm then no need of insecticides and pesticides, spraying chemicals destroy all essential predators, so enjoy praying mantid in your farm and garden, but there is problem for the gardens or farm where lace wings, lady bug, present In abundance praying mantid attack on lace wings,lady bug which is also used as Biocontrol so be aware if you have lots of lace wings and lady bug in garden.

Generally in farm there is existence of fungi some are seed born some are soil born , because of that fungi different disease may occur in plant root. Different fungi such as fusarium, verticillia , pithium which attacks on plant suck the nutrients nd destroy whole plant .

But there is soultion which is eco friendly “Tricoderma ” it’s also a fungi but harmless for plant ,and  parasites  on above fusarium etc.which cause disease in plant.tricoderma also controls nematodes , it’s also decomposes farm waste.

Tricoderma seed treatment for plant before sowing 4 gram of tricoderma per kg seed , add little warm water in tricoderma rub it slowly and dry it in shade , keep it away from sunlight , dry and cool place, after sowing seed avoid use of chemical fertilizers.

It can use in all plant which is affected or sensitive for fungi attack or disease like wilting, root rot, stem rot .it’s easily available on krushi kendra (agro agencies) it’s harmless for soil, and useful microbes in soil. Here I upload the photo of gram plot which is tricoderma treated.

Today’s work finish with lots of tiredness , now my farm is ready for the polythene mulching , workers prepare bed for my watermelon 🍉🍉intercropping with papaya , there is distance in between watermelon plant to plant is 5 by 5 ,still I am not choose variety of watermelon either sugar baby or sugar queen. We calculate, about nearly 450 papaya plant for the intercropping with watermelon and 150 grams watermelon seed needed we will use thirum and captan for seed treatment and overnight soaking of seeds in germinator because of that germination percentage will be increased, day to day updates will be there for you ,Now I am going to the home, beautiful evening is there and hopes for tomorrow. See how day by day my watermelon plot grow and sweet and juicy watermelon will be there .

Hi, guys I am agriculture science graduates and studied special diploma in plant health management National institute of plant health management Hyderabad,india. specialisation in Biosecurity ,I am also a field officer in seed corporation, of maharashtra. I like to share my experiences in agriculture field and my so short knowledge about agriculture becoz agriculture field is huge , I am being tiny part of this, simultaneously my start up experiences in farming also share with you 😊😊there are so many farmers connected with me because of my job , field work is challenging, but so many things i learnt from it, listening farmers problems, how to face farmers, tell them government policies about agriculture and seed. recently I visited agricultural exhibition in my town which is concern with my job I saw different equipments, machines ,tractors , I need that all for my farm, but I am not afford that all but one day I am ready with all that what I want, recently I am planning I sow till the end of February a watermelon with intercropping of papaya plants, this idea comes from that exhibition , there is stall in that exhibition of papaya plants and watermelon intercropping, there are so many varieties of watermelon sugar queen,sugar baby, manik. there are custard apples varieties also but I planned custard apple Demo for my dad’s farm here I upload some custard apple varieties

This NMK-1 variety is developed from local breeder , farmer named Navnath malhari kaspate, from village gormale tq.Barshi Dist.solapur maharashtra india. This variety is excellent in yield 12 tonn per acre per year, with less seed more pulp , I like it, I suggest this to farmers, from tomorrow my watermelon plot’ s poly mulching will be start.
